| Black Friday Pie Hunt Ride 11/27/09 Its Black Friday. Ya know the shopping day after Thanksgiving. After weeks of double the normal rain fall we have a dry day. The sun looks like it will be out now and then. Its a real quick throw together. Contacted a few local riders. Some still sleeping some slow to respond. So around 10:30 Fred and I head out from the local Jack In the Box. We cant really decide on any specific route but we want to hit Willow's and Jims in Silvana to check out the pie. I assume lead with no route in mind and turn right. Its funny how it can sometimes be a chore to think of a route as you are sitting over a cup of coffee. But get on the bike and start moving in a general direction and the ideas start flowing. Fred had mentioned a turn we had looked at several times and we thought we would check it out. So my brain quickly came up with a nice wandering route to the area in question. We ended up taking a couple new roads but nothing really worth mentioning. We rolled into Silvana and stopped to check out the Mercantile. It had a sign about fresh pie's so lets check it out. It turns out the have a lot of fresh UNBAKED take out pies. They recommended Willow and Jim. We decided we needed a little more then pie so had a Burger first. Then pie and ice cream. The selection was a little light but good. After lunch I took the lead again and we wandered home. Around 135 miles with no rain. We were looking for and End Of Pavement sign. While we found 2 dead end roads we could not find and End Of Pavement sign? |
