| VTX Sisters Oregon Campout 06/19-21/09 WOW what a weekend. Sisters Oregon is a great motorcycle weekend getaway. Several motels in addition to camping. The town has several good restaurants and Bars. What else do you need? The weather I have to say for me was pretty much crap. We got rained on a little on the way down but not to bad. It was cool but not as cold as it might have been at night. I was ok in my fleece sleeping bag with clothes on and a light blanket I borrowed from Ric. Three of us did almost 300 miles on Saturday that ended with a fantastic run up H19. A very nice road. Most ended up doing a much shorter ride that all enjoyed. The ride on Saturday got of to a slow start. I think it might have had some thing to do with the outstanding Party on Friday night. I don't know what time it ended but Bob did not get there until after midnight and the party went well after that. I have been told that I was very entertaining Friday night. But to be honest I don't remember any of that. That was after my Friday night tour of the local establishments. So it is very possible I was in an exceptionally good mood. The Saturday party was a little subdued. I think most were thinking of the early start of a long ride the next day. I was supposed to make a special guest appearance at Scoots one of the local bars that I had a few rum and cokes in on Friday night. But I bailed. Will have to make it up to them next time. The ride home was thru some of worst winds I have ever ridden thru. That was after Jason and I got pulled over by a local sheriff. I found out that it seems that day anyway only the lead rider gets a ticket Not sure what others would do but once Jason gets the final bill I will be kicking in something to help out. This was the first attempt at an Oregon and Washington VTX rider meet up. I think it came off pretty well. Everyone is already talking about next year. Friday Hwy 224 Video, NFR 19 Video, |
