The Last Sunday Breakfast Ride
01/31/10

The first Last Sunday of 2010. The weather had held some promise during the week.
But the sun breaks never materialized. It was misting drizzle kind of day. No real rain
just drizzle. The roads were damp but not bad. So far we have lucked out with no
snow this winter so the roads are in great shape as compared to this time last year.

We have had twice as much rain as normal but at the same time we have the
warmest January in history. We have also had 3 nice weekend days to date. So there
will be no complaining from me today. Maybe tomorrow?

We meet for the first time at the
Village Restaurant in Marysville. It is a very nice
restaurant meet spot. They have large seating area and a table big enough for 10
was waiting for us as well as a good Brunch Buffet. What more can you ask for.

We had around 9 show up and only 2 were in cars. So after Brunch we headed east
for a Machias, Granite Falls, Monroe, Sultan back road ride. We finished up with a
blast up Ben Howard and High Bridge Road. For myself it was around 130 miles or so.

We did loose couple of riders at Lake Roesiger. George raced ahead and Marv took
of after him. They thought we were going to the west side of the lake but we were
going on the east side. I thought they saw my signal but they did not and continued
on a separate ride. This was a mystery ride and while I had sent George the map it is
subject to change and did at least twice.
