| Redwood Run 2007 Ride Report. Redwood Run 2006 Some Runs are about the Party. Others are about the Ride. The Redwoods Run is about both. The ride to the area from anywhere is great. With many ride options in the area. Don't short change yourself like I did and go there with a tire that needs replacing. I did that trying to extract an extra 2k or so miles on a tire. I only got 1k or so and had to forgo the Hwy 1 and central California loop I was planning. The Run itself as advertised is a 2 day kick ass party. Many great bands of Friday and Saturday night playing till the next morning. The run site was full but not jam packed like I had thought it would be. As you enter from the top you ride down a narrow winding paved road to the bottom. It is maybe a mile or more. As you go down you pass several flat areas to the left and right. You can set up camp at any one of these. You want to go to the bottom and find a spot on the 3 or so areas around the Stage area. If you take the first areas it will be a long walk down and (worse) up. There seemed to be areas available all around. If you are in a RV, Car, or Truck you will have to park at the top. There are wine tour buses that will shuttle you down and back. They are frequent. The food was good and easy to get to. The complementary Steak Dinner on Saturday was also good. The web page states no outside liquor. But it seemed like many were bringing there own. Ice was also available and plentiful. This was my first year. They have already indicated that next year will be special due to the 30th anniversary. So I will be back Check out the 2007 Ride Plan. Check out Barnet's Magazine Photos.
