The Next 100 Years of Motorcycles in Rosalia Washington. It was different this year. Could be a year of change or just a slight mistake. It was like the Agony and the Ecstasy. The Ecstasy. I think the crowd was the biggest that I have seen. I have been to all 3. I do not think there was a 4th? The first time was just one day. What a blast. The 2nd one in 2006 was 3 full days Friday thru Sunday with bands all days. I never did understand why they had Sunday full of events. After all it is not a holiday weekend. Some have taken Friday off and by Sunday it is time to go. It is a weekend event. There have been repeated references to Sturgis. But that is a week long event. Perhaps someday? This year it was a Friday, Saturday event. The town was rocking. There were 3 or 4 beer garden and or bars besides the main beer garden. Several had bands and entertainment. Lots of vendors for merchandise and food. There were quite a few food vendors of different types. The Lumber Yard Saloon was in full swing. I call it the Barn and the band Friday and Saturday was great. The campground was about the same. The same location. A little lumpy in the area we were in. One of our party said the North area was a lot smoother. There were some showers. The nice addition for me was the Beer Garden. It was nicely laid out with hay bails. They had reasonable prices as did the rest of the town. 16oz beer $3.00. It was nice to sit down for a few minutes each night with some other campers and wind down. The BBQ guy was not there which was a big disappointment. The Agony. The promoters tried to make the park which was part of the Rally last year a concert zone at extra charge. This was a huge failure. There was some problem with the permits for the beer garden so there was no beverages of any kind available. There was a food cart out side that you could get a soda or water at. But that was not what most expected. Most I talked to said they would not pay the additional $25 EACH NIGHT for the concert area. Everyone felt is should be included in the entry fee as most other rallies. I do not think that there were more then 100 (more like 50) each night. Must have been very strange for bands like Starship to play for a crowd of 50? I would suggest next year to decide on a all inclusive ticket. I think most would have paid $75 or so for the full package. Past years the park was a central place. People would hang out there all day. There was food and beer gardens open. A nice shady place to hang out. As it was done I am sure the town establishments loved it because they were swamped all night. Since no one was at the park. So I hope the promoters re evaluate this next year. There was some very serious talk from people at the campground that said next year it would all be at the campground. I think it would be great to have the main band stages at the campground. But I hope the town stays involved. The town is part of the Rally (IMO). Loved the Rally, Hated the concert site.
