| VTXOA Winthrop Roundup 2008 Date 09/12/08 Late every summer the VTXOA has its annual rides to Winthrop Washington for end of summer gathering. Last year we moteled it but this year we mostly all stayed at the KOA. I think everyone was in cabins or RV's. The weather was great this year. Camping would have been ok on Friday night. But I think it got a little cold Saturday night. The town seemed to have closed early this year. At least that is what I thought. Several restaurants were closed already. The Virginian was one of them. We had a great time last year on there deck. Since they were closed we elected to BBQ both nights. It all worked out well. |
| We rode over there at various times on Friday. Meeting at the campground. Saturday we headed east on 153 to Pateros. From there we ended up taking 3 or 4 different loops back. Some headed straight back via Loup Loup. The rest headed on to Grand Coulee Dam and on to Cache Creek Rd. From Cache Creek a few looped around Republic and Loup Loup. The rest went straight to Loup Loup and back. |

No matter which route you took everyone had a great ride. The weather was good the whole weekend including the ride home on Sunday. Last year we got soaked to the bone on Sunday. For most the riding does not end here. Most of us ride all year but this was the last overnight run till next year. |
