Sept 14 - 15

This could be the first of the annual Fall Round up rides for the Washington VTXOA group. It was summer on the East
side and we Wester Washington types have not seen any summer this year. Since it was a little last minute and some
wait to make reservations we were a little spread out. Some at the Virginian, Winthrop Inn, and Koa. Everyone had a
great time and I think we are pretty much 100% on doing it again next year. We will book earlier probably at the Winthrop
Inn and get our lodging together.  We ended up with around 15 bikes and 20 or so folks.
Everyone headed over at
different times on Friday. I
took the day off and left mid
morning for a relaxed ride
over Highway 20.
The traffic was light and the
weather great after Rock
port. I took the opportunity
to get some good East
bound video.

I think I may have been the
first in town. Riders began
to dribble in during the
afternoon and early
evening.

Around 8 of us had dinner
at the Palace around 7.
After our dinner we found
several more at 3 Fingered
Jacks.

We joined them for another coffee. Then others began to drift in. Pretty soon we had 2 big tables in the center or the
restaurant and we closed it up. The wait staff took good care of us as we continued to grow from 4 to 20 or so.

Saturday we headed out on around a 200 mile loop. Riding up over
Loup Loup pass. With a smoke and pottey break in
Okanogan. We rode thru Omak and East of 155. Turning South on Omak Lake road. There were some worried riders as
we started out on some lose gravel chip seal leftovers. But after a few miles we hit the good road section. This is a very
light traffic road running down the West side of Omak Lake. Some nice gentle curves and great scenery. There was a fire
somewhere so it was pretty smoky at times.

Looping South East along the river we stopped at the
Coulee Dam visitor center. Then some lunch up the road. Back
thru Pateros and
153 back to Winthrop. Nice summer weather all the way. What a treat.

We attacked the
Virginian restaurant for dinner that night with pretty much the whole group. It was very hot in the
restaurant so we setup on the deck. There was much partying during the 2 hour wait for dinner. It did take a while but
again the staff took good care of us during that time. A small group of us finished off the night at the KOA around a small
camp fire. We are not sure but there may have been some skinny dipping in the river??

Sunday we left the summer weather of the East side for a rain downpour on the West side. We knew we were home?
