Highway wander North to Sumas
Date 01/13/08
Wow with all this crappy weather for the last 3
months may be all last year. Out of the blue
comes this sunny warm day?

Just something quick. We throw out a meet
notice for the on the
PNW Road Riders Yahoo
site. 10pm at the I5 North bound rest point.
This is a frequently used spot. Just out side of
the metro area with many nice rides north.

Roland, Dan and myself meet at the rest stop.
Bill came by on his way to his sons basketball
tournament. Thanks Bill. He had promised us a
nice day the prior night because he knew he
would not be able to ride.

We were a little surprised that no one else
showed up. This was the first nice day we have
seen in months?

From this location it is around 75 miles to
Sumas and Bob's Burgers. But we wound
North over all the back and side roads. With a
short stop a Scooter Stuff. This made is
around 140 miles. For full route details check
out the Ride Page.

After a nice lunch at Bob's in Sumas we
returned via the full Hwy 9 route. Around 240
miles all together.

This was my first ride over 200 miles on the
new ST 1300. I seem to be getting used to it
and the new riding position. My right knee is a
little sore but other wise pretty good. It is a
definite change from the VTX cruiser position.
But man does it feel good in the corners. Made
it around 225 miles before my rear started to
get sore. So I guess I will be looking at seat
options soon.

The Video shows Mosquito Lake Rd but it is a
couple years old.
