| Lacey to Windy Ridge Sept 8 The Oly Rat (Triumph) Group is and active riding group int the Olympia area. They have a regular end Saturday ride most of the year. These rides are usually over great south sound roads and cover long millage. I like to get down there are much as I can. Living in the North Sound this give me new areas and roads that I do not see every day. This ride was going to end up at Windy Ridge. That is the ride up the East side of Mt St Helen's. This is a very twisty ride up thru some of the major devastation areas. This is favorite Sport Bike ride. |
| The route wandered thru some nice local backroads Southeast of Lacey. Including the always fun Highway 7. We almost made it to the entrance to Mt Rainier. For me that would be the ride tomorrow. We turned South on Skate Creek Rd. That is a road I have heard of but never ridden. It is an interesting forest service road. Parts are in pretty rough condition. I hit one pot hole that I thought was going to break my bike in two. But we made it. Windy Ridge was not to crowded. So was a pretty wide open ride the rest of the way. |
