Cycle Barn Get Lost on Whidbey.
Date 02/16/08

Boy I think we all needed that. The weather broke for a weekend. After nothing but crap all
winter we finally got a good weekend. The group was somewhere over 30 bikes as we left
the Cycle Barn. Everyone was jonesing for a ride and came out of the woodwork.

It was quite a scene at the Ferry dock with 30 to 40 bikes. One unfortunate young man ran
into a State Trooper who recognized his bike as one he had given a rather bad ticket to a
week or so ago who did not have an endorsement. The Trooper sought out the rider. I am
not sure but I believe he got another ticket and impound. Wow it was not his week.
Once off the ferry we
proceded north on
Whidbey Island.

We wandered west
and ended up on a
dead end road on the
water. It was a very
nice road and I had
wondered why I had
not seen it before.

We found our way out
and took a swing by
Langley. Then a rather
direct north route to
Fort Casey.

After a while of viewing
the sites and chatting
we decided to head
north for Lunch

30 plus started the ride
but by the time we
stopped at Deception
Pass we were down to
10. But since it was
almost time for lunch
that was ok. 30 for
lunch can be a
problem.

After lunch we pretty
much broke up into 2
groups. One heading
to I 5 for a straight slab
home. The rest of us
took a nice ride back
thru some of the
normal Conway
Snohomish county
roads.

Now it is time to get
ready for Sunday.
