PNW Road Riders ACR 08
Date 10/11/08 -10/13/08

ACR stands for Autumn Colors Ride. For me it was the Colville ride. I would have preferred to do it
earlier in the year. The weather was clear but pretty cold in the mornings. The ride was to be a 3 day
ride with one day over on Saturday. Local area ride on Sunday and return on Monday. Having already
burned all my vacation days I could only do Saturday and Sunday.

We meet Saturday morning at the Buzz Inn at Snohomish for breakfast and headed out a little after 9. It
was cool at the start and as we crossed over Stevens Pass got darn cold down to the 30s area. There
was moisture on the mountain so I was a little leery of the damp spots.
We took the Plain and Chumstick
Hwy loop around Leavenworth. The
Orondo Ascent is allways one of my
favorite rides.

I have mapped the ride from the
Keller ferry area as that is were the
real ride began. And ended the map
at Highway 2 were I returned straight
to Lynnwood on Sunday.

The weather warmed up to the 60s
during the day but Sunday it was
down to the 26 area going over hwy
20. The gerbings (heated gear) was
great. I did have a failure on my left
glove however but I survived.

Flowery Trail was a road I had long
wanted to ride. It did not disappoint
and was great. Another great
weekend in 2008.
