| Brunch at Sumas 03/29/09 The Last Sunday (of the month) Breakfast ride. We have these every last Sunday of the month Fall, Winter, and Spring. If the weather is to bad drive you car to the meet up. The weather has been bad the last month or so and was bad as this ride approached. But the weather men kept saying we were going to have one good day. Most did not believe that but I held on to it. Saturday and into the evening was cold and wet. Sunday morning started cold, gray, and scattered showers but began to clear as predicted. So this was one of those Pacific Northwest Days that you have to be ready for. It was pretty nice with some good sunshine in the afternoon. |

| This was a I knew the route. The original route was around 115 miles. It is mapped to the left. But to my surprise there was still frost and even some snow on the back roads. It was apparent that we would not arrive until after noon and I was hungry. So I shortened the route saving some for the return. Bobs Beef and Brew is a favorite for us. The breakfast bunch is very good at around $8. After a great brunch most of us headed back via most of the great side roads off Hwy 9. Bill took a photo journey to the peace arch on the Canadian Border. The 09 ride schedule will kick in next month. I hope we have a summer this year? |
